Wendy Ellsworth is an internationally recognized artist. She is a frequent contributor to Beadwork and Bead & Button, and teaches classes at leading craft centers, bead shops, major bead shows, and bead society gatherings nationwide. She will discuss topics in her new book Beading - The Creative Spirit: Finding Your Sacred Center through the Art of Beadwork. Wendy will bring examples of the bead projects illustrated in her book as well as other examples of her work. Copies of the book will be available for sale. |

Wendy also works with tribal women's beading groups in Kenya. She will show a documentary, Umoja, The Village Where Men are Forbidden, a refuge for raped and abused women. The women in the village make magnificent beadwork that supports the community. The 52-minute documentary, filmed in 2008 by a French team, is in English with some subtitles.
