Hunterdon County Library, Flemington

The Hunterdon County Library will host a display of the works of members of the Delaware Valley Bead Society from Monday, October 3, thru Monday, October 31. Uniquely beautiful pieces created by DVBS members can be seen in the showcases on the first floor of the library at 314 State Route #12, Building #3, in Flemington.

Because the Delaware Valley Bead Society enjoys educating others in the art of jewelry-making, 22 members will be giving demonstrations on three Saturdays (October 8, 22 and 29) between 10am and 4pm at a table in the lobby. The demonstrated jewelry techniques will include bead weaving and stringing, wire wrapping, cast metal, metal forming, enameling, cold connections, bead crochet, bead knitting, Kumihimo braiding with beads, peyote stitch, right angle weave stitch and niobium colored metal. Stop in to watch and chat with members as they work their stringing or weaving magic!

Individuals interested in beading and future membership are welcome to attend a meeting to get acquainted with the Society. The Bead Society meets at 7 pm on the third Tuesday of each month – except December and January – in the Hunterdon County Senior Center located beside the Hunterdon Medical Center at 4 Gauntt Place – Building 1, off Rt. 31 in Flemington.
